As leaders of Riverbend this is a requirement of your leadership role so that we can equip you and guide you in techniques and policies that you need to know as part of your role. If you are unable to attend, please let the Organizing Committee know or email admin@riverbend.org.au The weekend is designed to help train people (grade 7 and up) who are involved or who would like to be involved in volunteering at Riverbend’s holiday camps.
You will meet new people and be taught new things. We advise you to come to camp with an open mind and give everything a go. Pastoral care will be available for you to make the most of. All the usual camp rules apply during the weekend. Be respectful of other people and their belongings, no swearing. Phones are not permitted during any workshops. Remember you are here to learn how to be the best leader, Supervisor, auntie, uncle, camp parent possible. We will be looking at everyone’s behaviour over the weekend to see if you the right leader we need at upcoming camps.
Our main aim is to honour God in all that we say, think and do. So come along and have a wonderful weekend of learning and fellowship.
When: Fri 17th May @ 6:00pm till Sun 19th May @ 2pm
Over the weekend there will be a variety of different skill workshops where you will learn skills needed to be a cabin leader, supervisor, auntie, uncle, camp mum and dad, etc.
The Weekend will have studies which are designed to encourage you in your faith. There will also be activities and workshops to develop the necessary skills for being a room leader as well as praise and worship and much more.
Riverbend holds camps every school holidays, Packed full with
Exciting Activities, Encouraging Studies, Action Packed Games & All sorts of FUN.
Please Note Riverbend will no longer be using styrofoam cups for water between meals & requires everyone to bring a Drink Bottle that is clearly named.
Anyone sent home for not abiding by our code of conduct will not receive any form of refund. Cancellation fee is $20
Disclaimers
1. All volunteer workers aged 16 & above including staff at Riverbend are required to have a current ”Working with vulnerable people” card
2. Signing children in and out of camp must be done by a parent/guardian/carer
3. Riverbend staff will not release children to a non-custodial person without parent/guardian authorization
A reminder, No parents/guardians/carers are to approach other children during pick up or drop off times to discuss camp issues. All such discussions are to be held with Riverbend site staff only.
At Riverbend we want to care for each child who comes to our holiday camps. This begins when the child is dropped off and continues until they are picked up by their legal parents/guardians. To help us please fill in the following details. Please note that all information is treated confidentially. Cabin leaders and support staff are briefed on medical/behavioural problems that may require special care.
Canteen
If you would like canteen at the Leadership Training Camp, please bring cash for the event and we will have change available.
Riverbend is a Christian campsite administered by the Christian Brethren Churches of Circular Head.
We expect all campers to participate in all camp activities including games, Bible studies and devotions.
We want to have a safe and positive camp environment. Upon receipt of this application each camper will be sent a code of conduct to read and adhere to. If campers are not prepared to agree to this code of conduct, you are invited to phone us and withdraw your application. Campers are not to bring mobile phones, laptops, electronic games, CD players, MP3 players, knives, scissors, swap cards, tarot cards, matches or lighters. Aerosol deodorant cans are not permitted due to health reasons. Absolutely no drugs, alcohol or cigarettes are allowed at camp. I have read the consent section carefully. I approve of this application and agree that although camp leaders will exercise all possible care they are not liable for any injuries or damages which may be sustained to person or property. I also authorise the camp to obtain any medical attention as required at my expense and promptly notify me. I understand that if the camper does not abide by Riverbend’s code of conduct, camp management reserve the right to remove them from camp.
